The Additive Manufacturing and Component Reliability Group within CSEM’s Micro and Nano Systems Business Unit in Neuchâtel is seeking an experienced LPBF expert to strengthen its existing team. The preferred start date is as soon as possible, subject to the successful candidate’s availability and mutual agreement.

Your mission

Your mission will be to strengthen CSEM’s LPBF team and advance the additive manufacturing of single- and multi-metal components. You will take ownership of LPBF printing activities and play a key role in successfully delivering additive manufacturing projects. Drawing on your mechanical engineering expertise, you will help solving complex industrial challenges and contribute to innovation in manufacturing processes.

Your responsibilities

The role encompasses the full scope of LPBF activities.

The primary focus is the hands-on operation of three complementary LPBF systems, requiring a high level of technical expertise.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Scientific contribution to LPBF activities and projects
  • Delivering high-quality technical documentation and progress reports for industrial customers.
  • Maintaining an active on-site presence, delivery of laboratory tours, and supervision of students undertaking semester projects and internships.

Your profile

Know-how

  • Proven hands-on experience in operating LPBF systems.
  • A strong scientific background, demonstrated by one of the following:

- PhD in a relevant field, with a background in mechanical engineering,

or

- Master’s degree in a relevant field, combined with several years of professional experience and a background or practical experience in mechanical engineering.

  • Good communications skills in German, French, and English.

Interpersonal skills

  • Curious and creative, with a strong desire to innovate across disciplines and find non-conventional engineering solutions.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and results driven.
  • Able to work both independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational skills.
