The Nanoscale Technology group of our Micro and Nano Systems Business Unit, based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland is looking for Senior Technician

 

Your mission 

The main mission is to support engineers / project team in their R&D activities. You will participate to several multidisciplinary industrial and research projects in the field of Micro-/Nano-technology. You will contribute by developing innovative processes and solutions with a focus on surface modification, micro-/nano-fabrication, fabrication and evaluation of functional devices (sensors, actuators, devices for renewable energy, watch components, etc…). You will be responsible for laboratory experiments, performing characterization/measurements, analyzing and documenting results.
In parallel you will also be responsible for laboratory management tasks concerning organization, maintenance, orders.

 

Your responsabilities

  • Contribute to the execution of multidisciplinary projects and R&D activities
  • Execute tasks according to engineers’ request and guidelines using a wide range of processes and techniques, and with respect deadlines. Carry out a batch of experimental tasks independently. With more experience, become a force of proposal to solve complex technical problems
  • Develop and improve chemical/physical processes
  • Make characterizations/measurements/performance evaluation, analyze and share results
  • Commissioning of devices and systems
  • Maintain the equipment/machines (maintenance, calibration), manage the products orders
  • Participate in the quality maintenance and improvement, including the related documentation
  • Be possibly responsible for the infrastructure/laboratory 

 

Your profile

Know-how

  • Professional/vocational level of education and training (CFC, Maturité), Advanced Diploma of higher education (HES), both with usually 3-5+ years of professional experience
  • Completed education in chemistry, physics or microtechnology
  • Experience with coating/surface modification techniques (both wet or vacuum based)
  • Experience in micro-/nano-fabrication technologies
  • Experience in several analytical techniques such as microscopies, spectroscopies, electrochemical characterization, …
  • Knowledge in commissioning laboratory setups and general characterization/measurement technique
  • Broad knowledge of rules, processes, and concepts in own discipline and in laboratory management
  • Independent and efficient way of working
  • Industrial experience might be an asset/required
  • Good knowledge in English and fluent in French
