Our “Edge AI and vision” group, based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland is looking for a System Architect and Project Manager for vision system design.
Your mission
As a System Architect and Project Manager, you will lead the research and development of low-power, multi-spectral vision systems. You’ll oversee projects spanning optics, electronics, mechanics, and algorithms, while engaging in industry partnerships to expand our project portfolio.
Your responsibilities
- Lead design and development of advanced vision systems integrating optics, electronics, mechanics, and algorithms.
- Manage project acquisition, scope, efforts, timelines, and risks, ensuring resource optimization across hardware and software.
- Engage directly with customers, building strong industry relationships to enhance our project reach.
- Lead proposal writing, effort estimation, and scope definition.
Your profile
Know-how
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Science, with 5+ years in vision/optical system design and multidisciplinary project management.
- Technical skills : Vision and optical systems design, including illumination, photometry, and multi-camera systems.
- CAD modeling proficiency (ideally SolidWorks).
- Hands-on laboratory experience with optical systems.
- Project Management: Proven experience writing business and technical proposals, managing and derisking complex projects, handling multiple simultaneous tasks, and customer relations.
- Experience with deep neural networks, image processing, and embedded vision systems (including firmware).
- Programming knowledge in C, C++, C#, Matlab, Python (OpenCV).
- Familiarity with low-power applications, miniaturization, and HW-SW feature analysis.
- Knowledge in microcontroller programming (e.g., ST32, NXP).
- Rapid prototyping and development of marketing demonstrators.
Interpersonnal Skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
- A future-focused mindset with a robust scientific curiosity.
- Fluency in English (French preferred).
- Ability to represent CSEM in fairs, exhibitions, and conferences.
