Facing the challenges of our time

Help us grow and be more impactful! We are looking for a passionate person who wants to co-develop products for biotech and life science applications.

The commercialisation of biological therapeutics and drug screening assays based on engineered cells and tissues holds tremendous potential for transforming drug production and diseases treatments. To facilitate and optimise the organoid treatment, real-time, reagent-free and contactless bio-analyte concentration monitoring, such as glucose, is required to ensure product quality and to improve the efficiency and reliability of biomanufacturing operations.

Our team of engineers at CSEM is developing spectroscopic monitoring system and processes to assess bio-analyte concentration in bioreactors and organ-on-a-chip devices.

Your mission

For this internship, you will join a multidisciplinary R&D team and will work among experts in biotechnology, optics and systems engineering. You will gain practical experience in chemometrics and experimental assessments working in chemical and optical laboratories. You will develop efficient Python algorithms to enhance our chemometric system performance, conduct laboratory experiments, and prepare samples. The internship should last 6 months and can be part of a bachelor's or master's thesis.

Your responsibilities

  • Developing efficient algorithm (Python) to improve system performance (chemometrics)
  • Conduct experiments and prepare samples in a chemistry laboratory
  • Support development and validation of an innovative spectroscopy setup
