We are looking for a business-savvy, inspiring and communicative Chief Development Officer in Neuchâtel.

Your mission

The Chief development officer (CDO) is responsible for the company's strategic development and growth through partnerships with key stakeholders and fundraising activities. Reporting to the CEO, s/he works directly with the Executive Committee members to plan, review, and revise the company's development program.

The CDO designs and implements a comprehensive plan for developing key partnerships and external alliances with CSEM's academic and industrial partners. S/he forges new relationships to build CSEM's visibility, impact and financial resources.

The CDO also leads the design and implementation of strategies to identify funding sources needed to finance CSEM's development activities. S/he is in charge of the comprehensive planning, implementation, management and oversight of all fundraising and community relations activities, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding philanthropic support from individuals, corporations and foundations. S/he liaises with potential sponsors and build strong relationships with existing donors. S/he leads a collaborative effort charged with the management of day-to-day fundraising and communications and providing a dynamic integrated program.

 

Your responsabilities

  • Develops and updates the company's strategic development plan with the Executive management team
  • Implements and manages the development and communications program designed to meet the objectives as defined in the strategic development plan
  • Proposes new initiatives in support of the company's development across the entire spectrum of the company's stakeholders
  • Nurtures the relationship and company's image with key academic and industrial partners
  • Defines and executes strategies to boost fundraising activities
  • Generates strong and lasting financial support from foundations
  • Manages all submissions to philanthropy organizations and subsequent defined programs, ensuring a long-term satisfaction of our partners

 

Your profile

Know-how

  • Advanced academic backgrounds in a technical field and in management
  • Min 5 years experience in fundraising activities
  • Proven experience with technology transfer and work in industry
  • Fluency in English and French, knowledge of German is a plus
  • Strategic planning
