We are looking for a passionate person to join us in Allschwil. 

Your mission 

The internship will contribute to the single cell technology activities at CSEM Allschwil, closely aligned with the Tools for Life Sciences Roadmap. The work will comprise development and testing of microfluidic devices for the analysis of biological samples (single cells and cell constructs) followed by specific on-chip and off-chip analysis. It will moreover comprise technical characterization and system validations of project setups related to the field of diagnostics and immunotherapy among others, all in a multi-disciplinary environment. Support in cell culture maintenance might be foreseen. Moreover, activities related to interstitial fluid analyses via microneedle constructs may complete the working tasks.

 

Your responsabilities 

Technical

Learn to manage laboratory activities according to CSEM's quality management system (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001).
Document your own work and work of project team colleagues.
Experimental work, data analysis, and reporting
Support laboratory maintenance and procurement.

Communication

Communicate well CSEM internally and with external contacts in case needed.
Develop internal network.

 

Your profile 

Know-how

Master level studies at ETH/EPFL domain in microtechnologies, biomedical engineering or related.
Pre-experienced in bio-microfluidic applications, such as droplet microfluidics is a strong asset.
Experience in microfabrication technologies and microscopy is highly advantageous.
Experience in cell biology and/or microbiology is highly advantageous.
Understanding of biomaterials, polymers, and hydrogels is helpful.
Experience in documentation of project results following ISO 9001 is helpful but not a prerequisite.
Experience in laboratory work under ISO 14001 is helpful but not a prerequisite.
Fluent in English is a requirement, German and/or French language skills are a plus but not necessary.
