The Micro and Nano Systems Business Unit, based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland is looking for a business-savvy, inspiring and communicative Group Leader – Emerging Micro- & Nano Technologies Group.

Your mission

The Emerging Micro- & Nano Technologies group plays a pivotal role within the Micro and Nano System Business Unit , with two key missions: (1) proposing and developing new technologies and concepts to enhance the BU portfolio, and (2) working on the applicative side with the development of innovative components based on the technologies inside the BU that includes nanotechnology, microfabrication, and additive manufacturing.

With its portfolio of technologies, cutting-edge infrastructures, and world-class expertise, the group provides advanced solutions to industrial sectors such as watchmaking, aerospace, life sciences, telecommunications, and quantum technology.

You will ensure an open, collaborative, and vibrant work environment to foster employees' creativity and innovation spirit in service of our customers. Leveraging your strong management experience and as a member of the BU management team, you will lead your group toward technical excellence, client centricity, and continuous and sustainable growth.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop CSEM activities mainly related to the Micro and Nanotechnology with a primary focus in Integrated Photonics, MEMS and Micromechanisms
  • Lead the technical activities of the group towards excellence by breaking current frontiers
  • Be responsible of the group financial performance and projects portfolio
  • Decisively contribute to the technology roadmap and project acquisition
  • Manage your team by defining team member’s annual objectives and appraisals, training needs, and providing support and guidance
  • Foster interactions and collaborations with industrial customers and research partners
  • Inspire the group creativity and foster a collaborative and open spirit
  • As company ambassador represent CSEM at events, workshops and conferences

 

Your profile

Know-how

You are a motivated expert with sound management experience, holding either a MS or a PhD in Microtechnology, Electrical Engineering, Physics or other relevant technical domains. Moreover, you have the following technical and business know-hows:

  • Proven track record in developing integrated devices such as MEMS and Integrated Photonics for various applications including in an industrial environment or in a partnership with industry.
  • Strong knowledge in Microfabrication Technologies
  • Strong knowledge in Solid State Physics and Photonics
  • Understanding and hands-on experiences of a wide spectrum of application fields of Microsystem and related technologies, such as Telecommunications, Quantum Technologies, Industrial & Scientific Instrumentation, and Environmental Sensing
  • Industrial experience is a strong asset
