The Edge AI and Vision Systems group based in Neuchâtel, is looking for an intern in spectral imaging & computer vision.

This internship goal is to help further our work on intelligent vision system. Specifically, in this work the aim is to use machine learning, computer vision, and spectral imaging techniques to enable chemical imaging in different types of applications for precision farming, agriculture, medical diagnosis, and industrial environment.

Your mission 

The mission of this internship is to foster the development of skilled professionals in the field of computer vision with a specific focus on environmental and/or medical applications. We aim to equip interns with the knowledge and tools necessary to contribute effectively to the advancement of chemical characterization techniques using spectral imaging. In addition to data analysis, the candidate is expected to perform laboratory and field work like optical setups, prototype assembly, benchmarking, but also data acquisition in the field. A presentation of the results is required at the end of the project, which will last a minimum of 4 months.

Your profile :

• Proficient in programming languages such as Python or C++.
• Familiarity with computer vision and image processing techniques.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g. Tensorflow and PyTorch).
• Experience with or a strong interest in learning about spectral imaging (multi-spectral and hyperspectral).
• Experience with or a strong interest in plant science, agriculture and/or medical sciences.
• Experience in remote sensing is a plus.
• Familiar with lab work (optical benches, cameras, etc.).
• Willing to go outside for field work (data acquisition and labelling).
• A good team player ready to tackle technical challenges.
• Highly self-motivated and independent, with the ability to drive projects.
