 We are looking for a Senior System Engineer in Neuchâtel to join our cross-department IT team supporting our specific R&D infrastructure.

Your mission

This role requires managing both on-premises Linux infrastructure and native cloud infrastructure (AWS), including support, maintenance, administration, and project development. It also includes technical support for specific complex applications, such as different CAD systems.

 

Your responsabilities

Within a small team, you will contribute to the following typical activities :

  • Participate to project evolution from architecture to implementation.
  • Deploy new solutions.
  • Ensure monitoring and availability of solutions.
  • Handle computing equipment (Physical or virtual) life cycle (update, renewal, extension).
  • Support our internal customers (incident, guidance,…).
  • Automate infrastructure processes.
  • Support specific tools, such as IC design EDA and TensorFlow, integration in infrastructure.
  • Administration of solutions, rights management and implementation of security policies.
  • Document guidance and best practices to internal users.
  • Promote the IT strategy.
  • Travel (15%) to other CSEM site in Switzerland.

 

Your profile

Know-how

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and proven 5-8 years' in the field of IT. Ideally with an R&D experience.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications: AWS (possibly Azure) certification is a plus.
  • Linux Platforms: Proficient in Linux administration with orchestrating tools, with strong focus on standardization, security and simplicity. (OS distributions, tools installation, clustering, ETX, etc)
  • Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in AWS (possibly Azure) administration, with strong focus on cost optimization, security, account management. Firstly, with a “serverless” technology mindset.
  • DevSecOps mindset : Experienced in automation, Infrastructure as code and CI/CD, and understanding of advanced development environment.
  • Scripting and version control: Proficient in scripting language like Bash, Pythonand version control (GIT/SVN).
  • Fluency in English is a must; fluency in French and/or German, knowledge of the other language is a plus.
  • Networking: Understanding of networking concepts and technologies.
  • Security: Knowledgeable and attentive to security principles and practices.
