CSEM provides a versatile technological platform in micro-fabrication to serve specialty applications and markets with a need for MEMS technologies and device integration requiring demanding specifications. CSEM a on-stop solution for MEMS development, industrialisation and small volume production to industrial sectors such as Watchmaking, Aerospace, Life Science and Energy. It includes concept, design, modelling, microfabrication in its fully equipped cleanroom, fulfilling quality requirements according to the ISO9001 standard, device characterisation as well as reliability testing.

In this context, the “Emerging Micro & Nano-Technologies” section within our “Micro & Nano Systems” division, based in Neuchâtel, is currently looking for a: Junior or Senior R&D Engineer in MEMS Design. (F/H) 100%.

Your mission 

As a Junior/Senior R&D Engineer in MEMS Design, you will play a vital role in our cutting-edge technology company by contributing to develop innovative integrated sensors & actuators as well as micromechanisms using MEMS technologies. Your primary responsibility will be in developing concept and leading the design phase based on customer requirement as well as for internal CSEM R&D developments.

Your responsibilities:

• Propose and develop concepts for innovative MEMS devices for internal CSEM R&D developments as well as following client requirements.
• Actively participate to the MEMS modelling, microfabrication process definition (in collaboration with process engineers) and device characterisation activities
• Contribute to the CSEM MEMS roadmap.
• Participate in the writing of industrial quotations and in the setting-up and writing of proposals for public funded projects (EU, SNF, InnoSuisse, ...)
• Manage and report on the ongoing projects
• Participate in meetings with clients and present at events, workshops and conferences

 

Your profile

Know-how

• You are a motivated expert with some project management experience
• You have an experience working with industrial clients or working in an industrial environment,
• You hold either a MS or a PhD degree in relevant technical domains with strong MEMS technology background
• Solid background in Solid-State Physics, Mechanic and Photonics
• Solid background in Multi-Physics Modelling
• Experience in electrical and mechanical characterisation of microsystems
• General knowledge in packaging technology and in reliability

The capabilities to work in a multidisciplinary team, to be innovative, to have a strong analytical skill to be able to manage complex developments, and to be result oriented are some of your strengths.
